We’ve all done it.
Gone to the fridge or freezer and not had any idea what to cook.
The children mad husband are hungry/home soon, and you’ve got no clue where to start.
Basics, make a list of all the meals you can cook from one type of meat.
Ie Sausages are used in –
Toad in the hole
Sausage and mash
Sausage casserole
Apple and sausage crockpot
Sausagemeat HotPot
Added to chips and egg
Skewered with raw spaghetti before cooking…!
And many more.
Chicken can be used in
Chicken and chips
Added to a jar of sauce
Roasted, even individual breasts
Baked in the oven with cheese shoved into a split and bacon wrapped around it
Flash fried with sliced veg for a stir fry
Etc etc
Get the meat part out of the fridge the night before and in the morning put it in the fridge until needed.
MThen, as long as you have your list to hand and some basic store cupboard essentials like cheese, eggs, flour, spuds, you’ll never be without a meal ready to cook.
Every meal doesn’t have to be a labour of love, sometimes it just needs to be nutritious and filling.
